Walk-in showers are becoming increasingly popular in bathroom design. At floor level or with a very small step, access and cleaning couldn't be easier. In a new build, a water run-off slope is essential (2% minimum), as is a preliminary waterproofing system (such as a flexible liquid membrane) or a floor level shower tray (we strongly recommend the WEDI range). Floor to wall continuity is created using waterproof strips and joints, allowing the extensive use of micro-mineral concrete on all surfaces.
In renovation projects, Marius Aurenti micro-mineral concrete can be applied to old tiling (after a specific preparation), with only 2 to 3mm thickness. Amongst the various types of coatings available, it's the easiest solution for bathroom renovation, widely used in the hotel trade. The superior quality of Marius Aurenti varnishes has been tried and tested for over thirty years in public works and in housing, guaranteeing the waterproofing and easy maintenance of Ma's micro-mineral concrete. For over a decade Ma's micro-mineral concrete has been a natural choice for bathrooms thanks to its technical qualities (finesse, joint free, resistance and strength of its varnishes) but perhaps above all because of its warmth and soft, sensory texture.
